Description

The Remote Controlled Relay can be programmed to work with most IR remote controls through its learning feature.

The power supply for the relay module is 5V (4.5-5.5V) and can come from batteries, an external 5V power supply or even from inside the device you want to control.

Programming:
ON Function – Press and hold the button on the module for about 5s until the LED lights up, then release the button on the module and press and hold the button on your remote you wish the receiver to learn.
OFF Function – Press and hold the button on the module for about 10s until the LED lights up, then release the button on the module and press and hold the button on your remote you wish the receiver to learn.

A 2-button IR remote control is included in the kit, and it might require programming just as explained above.

The maximum switching capability of the relay is 250VAC or 30VDC with 10A.

Non-remote relay modules with 1 relay, 2 relays, 4 relays and 8 relays are also available.

    Programming didn’t work per the instructions.
    Holding the button down on the board for 5 seconds made the LED flash. Pressing one of the buttons on the remote established the connection with the board and stopped the LED from flashing. Pressing that button again would momentarily turn on the relay.
    Pressing the button on the board for 10 seconds had the same effect as pressing the button for 5 seconds: it allowed establishing connection with the board with only one of the buttons at a time.
    Removing the jumper put the board into latching mode. Pressing the button that was programmed for control would turn on or off the relay.

    The relay works perfectly and I really like that you can use the jumper to toggle between modes (toggle on/off OR on/off when button held down). Unfortunately the remote control didn’t work at all. I checked with multiple batteries that I know work, and I also used the camera trick with my cellphone to see that nothing happened when I pressed a button on the remote. I have another remote control I can use that works so not a big deal. But this is a great little relay component and I plan on using it to use a remote control to turn on/off a microcontroller.
