Description

The Nokia 5110 LCD display is a monochrome graphics display with 84 x 48 pixels resolution. It is a low-cost and low-power display suitable for a wide range of applications. The display communicates with a microcontroller via the SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) protocol, which allows for fast and efficient data transfer. The display also has a backlight, which provides the necessary illumination for the pixels to be visible in low-light conditions. The Nokia 5110 display is commonly used in DIY electronics projects, hobbyist inventions, and educational purposes. It is ideal for projects that require a small, low-cost, and low-power display that can display graphics and text. The display can be easily interfaced with microcontroller boards such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and others, making it a popular choice for hobbyists and makers.

This is a 2.7-3.3V device. A higher supply voltage or logic level can destroy it.

The backlight is internally connected to VCC and the “light” pin is the open cathode that needs to be connected to GND for the backlight to work.

Since there are plenty of libraries and code examples online, we just recommend you use the online search (Google for example) and pick the one you think will meet your needs.

We offer a variety of larger LCD graphic displays as well, for example, 128 x 64 pixels in green/yellow and blue.
