Description

Small solar panel with 5V nominal output voltage at max. 100mA output current.
Such a small panel can power your microcontroller project, charge a battery, and drive a LED light bulb or a small fan… How about a base cap with a solar panel and fan blower to make the hot days bearable?
The dimension of this panel is 84.5 x 62 x 3mm, and the weight is about 16g.
Please note: When soldering wires to the contacts on the back, please make sure you do it quickly. Too much heat for a long time can cause damage to the panel.

I have been trying to power projects with small solar panels since the mid-80s and this is the first little panel I’ve seen that puts out anywhere near what it’s rated for. It was clear out but it’s winter so the angle of the sun isn’t great; even so, this panel managed to put out a little over 68mA, which is enough for tons of projects or even keeping a small battery topped up. It’d be even better in the summer. For the price, this is a great panel!

Like the description says, you can easily damage the panel if you take too much time soldering. To help get it done quickly, clean the contacts first with some isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab, then solder once it’s dried and the fumes have dissipated.
