Description
32×8 Dot Matrix MAX7219 LED Green (8x8x4) with 4 x MAX7219.
This display is a cluster of 4 single modules, internally connected. These modules can also be separated by scoring and breaking, because every module carries the same MAX7219 chip, and comes with the same power and data connection.
MAX7219 is an integrated serial input/output display driver. It can connect a microcontroller to a 7-segment LED display, a bar graph display, or even 64 independent LEDs. It includes a BCD encoder chip, a multi-channel scanning loop segment word driver, and a 8 x 8 bit static RAM for storing display data. Only one external register is used to set the segment current of each LED.
A convenient four-wire serial interface connects the display module to a microprocessor or controller. MAX7219 contains a 150uA low-power shutdown mode, and analog and digital brightness control.
MAX7219 LED Green requires only three IO ports to drive a dot matrix without any flicker!
MAX7219 supports cascading of multiple modules.

Can be used as it is or cut to get four 8X8 displays or two 8X16 or any combination. Works very well.
