Description
HK66T-OA Melody Chip plays ‘Jingle Bells’ continuously after connecting it to a 3-4.5V supply voltage.
After connecting to the supply voltage, it always starts with the 1st note.
The HK66T series melody chips can drive a piezo speaker directly, or a dynamic speaker using a transistor. Please see the datasheet for the connections.
Typical applications are door bells, alarm clocks or greeting cards.
We offer the HK66T with 4 different melodies:
HK66T-08 “Happy Birthday”
HK66T-11 “Love Me Tender”
HK66T-19 “Für Elise”
HK66T-OA “Jingle Bells”
You can check the sound samples before you buy to make sure you like the melody.
Operating voltage: 3.0 – 4.5 V
Operating current: <0.5mA
Operating temperature: 0 – 60℃
Pin 1 = GND
Pin 2 = 3-4.5V
Pin 3 = output

Got four of these devices a week ago and have been tinkering with them: three Jingle Bells (HK66T-0A) and one Fur Elise (HK66T-19). All four worked out of the box using various piezo speakers I had kicking around and an LP2950ACZ-3.3 to provide power. Also worked directly from a fresh CR2032 battery.
The sound is very reminiscent of 1980s and 90s Radio Shack equipment but in a tiny, low power TO-92 case.
They’re not going to knock any walls down but they’re loud enough to be heard across a room and will quickly make you the “favourite” person in a group if you have it on repeat. 🙂
Bottom line: works well, very easy to use (pay attention to Vdd and Vss in the datasheet), good price, and great to build into a little cheesy gift or decoration!
